More sleeves better!

Encouraged by the relative ease with which the green sleeves came together for the Palio dress, I decided to finally make sleeves to go with my red Elizabethan kirtle.

Thursday, I spent 2 hours fingerlooping some cords for the attachment strings. These are made from B&J Gold passing thread #371 and perle cotton 5 in red. Friday, I cut out the sleeve pattern in the purchased red fabric with gold embroidered designs (machine embroidered) that I'd found in JoAnn's a year or so ago, and cut it out of the dark brown heavy-weight taffeta that I'd bought, oh, 30 - 40 years ago and never used. While Hubby and I sat watching the first seven episodes of the Netflix show "Daredevil", I sewed it together. Well, I used a machine for the big stuff, and then hemmed the wrist end and added a bit of lace at the cuff as well. Can't say as I worked on it continuously, but it was probably another couple hours work. All and all, I spent probably 5 hours making them. I'm delighted at how they turned out.
